Message too, then others where it was difficult when my TOB was fubared.

Here's another thought, have you checked the level of your transmission fluid? If it is low it will definitely affect your shifting.

I discovered mine was a quart and half low when I had it removed for the clutch job. Noticable improvement when it was filled to proper level.

One time after an oil change I had done on my wife's SUV, they mistakenly drained the tranny instead of the oil! National chain too. Anyway, they forgot to fill the tranny back up. I drove it out of the bay to the edge of their parking lot, then the car would not go into gear. I went back and got the manager and told him the problem. He then got in the car and managed to get it in gear and drive it slowly around the parking lot of the strip mall where the oil change shop was located. The car would start and stop as he had trouble getting it in gear, but he managed to get it back to the bay. Consulted with his tech who admitted the problem, had meant to refill the tranny, but forgot to. I got the oil change for free.

But my point is the SUV exhibited a lot of the symptoms you describe with difficulty getting it into gear. Seemingly impossible at times, but would eventually go in at others. Might just depend on how the gears happen to line up at any particular depression of the clutch.

Regarding air in lines, if you are having so much air in lines it seems you would surely notice the level of your reservoir going down or leaks under the slave or at the clutch line connection points or bleeder valves, someplace. Because if you've got a spot letting air in, then it seems that same spot would also be able to let fluid out. But still doesn't explain the sudden onset of your problems...
